I had an amazing stay at Hakone Kowakien Miyamafurin! The traditional Japanese ambiance was super cozy, and the room was really spacious and clean. While I loved the Onsen experience, walking to the restaurant for dinner wasn't my favorite. Still, the meal was delicious! Overall, it's a great spot, especially for a quick getaway.

Rooms

My room was large, comfortable, and very clean, with traditional Japanese style and Western beds. I loved how bright it was with all the windows, making it feel relaxing.
Service
8.0
The receptionist was friendly and had everything well-prepared in English, which made check-in a breeze. Although the lighting in the private Onsen could’ve been more relaxing, the overall service was solid.
Location
8.0
The location was unbeatable! It was just a short walk to the Open Air Museum, and the beautiful flower garden nearby added charm to the place. Just a heads up, it might be a bit of a trek from the train station, especially with luggage.
Dining
7.0
The dinner at the nearby restaurant was tasty and fresh, but I felt the breakfast could've offered a bit more variety.
Facilities
9.0
The Onsen facilities were excellent, both public and private, and I appreciated how well the washing areas were kept. The additional fee for the private Onsen was worth it, despite the heat being a bit much.

Staying at Hakone Kowakien Miyamafurin was a peaceful experience, with gorgeous surroundings and a comfortable room. However, the food options were quite limited, which made it tricky when we wanted to relax without venturing out.

I loved my Superior Japanese-Style Room! It was spacious, authentically Japanese, and the beds were super comfy. I also appreciated the cleanliness throughout.
Service

The staff was very friendly, and having Google Translate on hand helped a lot. They made me feel welcome and attended to.
Location
9.0
The location is serene, nestled in the mountains, just a steep hill down from the bus stop connecting to Odawarra Station and Lake Ashi. The views were stunning!
Dining
6.0
The breakfast was decent but nothing to write home about. It was mostly pastries and coffee from a machine—definitely the weak point of my stay.
Facilities

I enjoyed the opportunity to book a private onsen, which was a fantastic perk. Everything else was tidy and ran smoothly.

I had a lovely stay at Hakone Kowakien Miyamafurin, enjoying the traditional Japanese style and a spacious, clean room. The onsen facilities were very relaxing, especially since I had them mostly to myself. However, I was a bit disappointed that our meal was not served on-site, and I found the private onsen's lighting could enhance the experience. Overall, it was a good experience with a few minor hiccups.

Rooms

The room was large, comfortable, and very clean, blending traditional Japanese style with western beds. I appreciated the spacious feel and great view.
Service

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, though their English was limited. However, everything was printed out in English, making it easy to understand.
Location

The location is picturesque and quiet, but it was a bit of a trek from the train station, especially with luggage. It's conveniently close to bus stops and a beautiful flower garden.
Dining

I found the included breakfast to be just okay, but enjoyed a fantastic dinner at a nearby restaurant with delicious yakitori. It was nice to have the option to dine out.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities were well-kept, and the onsen areas were clean and enjoyable. I loved using both the public and private onsens, but would have preferred softer lighting in the private one.

I had a pleasant stay at Hakone Kowakien Miyamafurin, with spacious and comfortable rooms, though I faced some challenges reaching the hotel in the dark. The service was polite, and the onsen facilities were truly relaxing. However, the dining experience was less convenient than I hoped due to the meal location.

Rooms
10.0
My room was spacious, traditional, very clean, and equipped with comfortable beds. I appreciated the additional sink beside the bathroom, which was really convenient.
Service
8.0
The staff were friendly and accommodating, although they spoke little English, they were well-prepared with printed information in English which made things easier.
Location
6.0
The location was lovely, situated in the mountains of Hakone, and close to beautiful walking paths such as the nearby Horaien park. However, the path from the train station was dark and a bit steep to walk, especially at night.
Dining
7.0
While the meal was tasty and at a nearby restaurant, I found it inconvenient to have to change back to regular clothes to walk there after the onsen. The food itself was enjoyable, featuring delicious yakitori.
Facilities

The onsen facilities were fantastic. I indulged in both public and private onsens, enjoying the tranquility of the quiet space during my stay. Free robe usage was a nice touch.

I had a peaceful stay at Hakone Kowakien Miyamafurin, enjoying the serene atmosphere and stunning surroundings. The onsen experience was amazing and the room was spacious and comfortable, though the breakfast could have been more interesting. A few minor issues included getting soaked on the way due to a storm and the room being a bit chilly at times.

My Superior Japanese-Style Room was surprisingly spacious and comfortable. I loved the authentic feel, and the two large futon beds were perfect for my family.
Service
9.0
The staff were friendly and accommodating, making me feel welcomed throughout my stay.
Location

The hotel is just a short walk from the bus station and offers a beautiful park right across the street, though the hilly terrain could be tricky, especially when carrying luggage.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was fresh but pretty simple, offering only basic options which left me wanting more variety.
Facilities
9.0
I loved the onsen experience, especially since I had access to it mostly alone during weekdays. The robes provided added to the comfort, but the lack of in-room showers was something to consider.
